M. Minnette Massey, one of the first 14 female law professors in the United States and a leading advocate for diversity, died Nov. 13 at the age of 89.

“The University of Miami Law School has lost perhaps its greatest champion,” said Charlton Copeland, professor at the UM School of Law and former M. Minnette Massey Chair, a position established by Miami Law alumni to honor Massey’s impact at the law school.
