The attorneys who work in the legal department of Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp. aren’t always negotiating the details of acquisitions in Bali and Australia or successfully defending the company against a string of class action lawsuits. They’re also working with students at a diverse Orlando high school, helping them learn about the law and what a career in it might look like.

The pro bono project is part of the Street Law Corporate Diversity Pipeline program, an effort to help bring more minority students into law school by starting in high school. The 22 Marriott attorneys and 35 other legal professionals have partnered with Oak Ridge High School, where 93 percent of the students are minorities.
