Precedent matters in constitutional law. And there was certainly precedent for Amy Brigham Boulris’ career as one of Florida’s top constitutional property rights litigators.
Her father, Toby Prince Brigham, secured some of the largest trial verdicts ever for Florida landowners, working on cases that stemmed from Miami’s growth into a metropolis: the construction of AmericanAirlines Arena, the expansion of the Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park, and the extension of Interstate 95 through downtown, just to name a few. His father, E.F.P. Brigham, won the 1950 Florida Supreme Court verdict that established that landowners could hire experts at the state’s expense in eminent domain cases.
