Washington, D.C.-based Miller & Chevalier Chartered, a law firm specializing in tax law, employee benefits, international litigation and government affairs, has hired a new partner in its international practice. Alejandra Montenegro Almonte specializes in international corporate compliance and will focus on matters in Latin America and on anti-corruption laws, internal investigations, complex commercial litigation and risk management.

Montenegro Almonte was previously division general counsel at gategroup, a global service and product provider to airlines and rail services. She oversaw gategroup’s legal and business activities in North and Latin America and developed that company’s global legal compliance program.
