Gov. Rick Scott vetoed a controversial alimony bill Friday, saying he believed it put parents’ wishes before children’s best interests.
The bill proposed dividing child custody 50-50 as the starting point for divorcing parents. It also would have eliminated permanent alimony and set alimony formulas based on family income and length of marriage.
