Catchy jingles or not, the Florida Supreme Court showed Thursday that it is not a fan of for-profit lawyer referral services that urge accident victims to dial in for legal representation—unless, of course, these referral services are owned by lawyers.

In a 6-1 decision that it acknowledged might be viewed as “severe,” the court rejected a Florida Bar proposal that would have allowed lawyers to accept referrals from agencies not owned by Bar members.
