The Fourth District Court of Appeal sided with a gay student who applied for in-state tuition rates based on his marriage to a Florida resident.

Citing the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark July decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, recognizing same-sex marriage as a constitutional right, the state appellate court sided with student Gildas Dousset in his bid to be classified as a Florida resident based on his Massachusetts marriage to a same-sex partner.
