Uber Technologies Inc. fought to treat its Florida drivers as “partners” rather than employees in an appellate hearing Monday.
The San Francisco-based ride-sharing company views its drivers as independent contractors because they set their own hours and can work for competitors, among other factors, Matthew Gore, Uber’s Florida general manager, said during the hearing.
