A state appeals court on Wednesday quashed an order telling a Fort Lauderdale law firm to turn over files to a former client it alleges hasn’t paid its fees.
Conde & Cohen should not have been ordered to turn over five case files to Grandview Palace Condominium Association Inc. because the order would nullify the firm’s retaining liens, the Third District Court of Appeal ruled.
