The Federal Trade Commission and Florida obtained restraining orders against companies accused of collecting $122 million on scam computer maintenance services.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and Delray Beach Police Department executed the orders against companies to cease making false or misleading statements inducing people to pay for goods or services. The orders issued Nov. 12 by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra in West Palm Beach also suspended the websites, froze the assets and appointed a receiver for the companies.
