Prominent Miami attorney Carlos Loumiet won the ability to pursue a multimillion-dollar claim against U.S. banking regulators, whom he alleged tried to end his Big Law career in an act of retaliation.

His court victory clears the way for the former Greenberg Traurig partner to press his claims against the U.S. government and its Office of the Comptroller for violation of the Federal Tort Claims Act, and its agents for allegedly violating his First Amendment rights—a first-of-its-kind lawsuit, according to his attorneys.
