A jury awarded $1.08 million to a driver whose ribs never healed after a car crash in Hollywood.
Simon Telfeyan made a left turn at the intersection of State Road 7 and Funston Street just before he was hit by Franklin Cruz Jr., who was going at least 70 mph, according to eyewitnesses called by the plaintiff. Telfeyan suffered five fractured ribs, fractured thoracic vertebrae and cervical neck injuries exacerbating a degenerative spinal condition. Two ribs failed to heal after the May 2012 crash, and Telfeyan testified every breath is painful.
