Marc Mukasey, co-head of Greenberg Traurig’s white-collar defense and investigations practice, said he expects a steady stream of prosecutions to continue under the Trump administration. The firm added two new shareholders to the practice group this week, and also recently welcomed ex-New York mayor and former prosecutor Rudy Giuliani back to full-time shareholder status.
Mukasey, a former federal prosecutor from New York’s Southern District based in the firm’s Manhattan office, has been rumored as a pick for a legal role in the Trump administration, with speculation continuing even after Trump asked Preet Bharara to stay on as Southern District U.S. attorney. Mukasey has also been mentioned as a potential future pick to lead the Eastern District, according to attorney sources.
