A Coconut Creek couple was ordered Tuesday to pay nearly $3 million in penalties and restitution for allegedly orchestrating a precious metals scheme, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced.
U.S. District Judge William Zloch in Fort Lauderdale ordered Cindy and Paul Vandivier to pay $1 million each in civil penalties and $986,763 in joint restitution to defrauded customers. The order also imposed permanent trading and registration bans on the Vandiviers.
