A Miami-Dade judge ordered sanctions against the Miccosukee Tribe and its former attorney, calling a lawsuit filed against former Miami U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis and his law partner, Michael Tein, “utterly frivolous” and in bad faith.

Circuit Judge John Thornton in an order signed Saturday slammed the tribe and its former lawyer, Bernardo Roman III, for a 2012 lawsuit against Lewis and Tein and their Miami firm, Lewis Tein, accusing them of legal malpractice, excessive billing and fraud.
