Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi is suing the town to collect $3 million in attorney fees for a public corruption case he won and the ensuing lawsuit to regain his seat.
Pizzi returned as mayor in April after Gov. Rick Scott suspended him from office following his August 2013 arrest on bribery charges. Pizzi was acquitted of all seven counts in August 2014, but Scott refused to end the suspension until the Florida Supreme Court ordered him to do so.
