Plantation’s shuttered Fashion Mall is headed for the auction block after Chinese investor Tangshan Ganglu Iron & Steel lost its latest bid Thursday to regain control of the redevelopment project.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John Olson rejected Tangshan Ganglu’s plan to convert from a Chapter 7 bankruptcy—which would give a court-appointed trustee power to liquidate the property—to a Chapter 11 reorganization, which would have allowed the company to create a plan to repay investors and hold onto the site.
