A state appellate court has chastised a Miami-Dade circuit judge, saying he “abandoned his post as a neutral overseer” when he told attorneys for an insurance company to “fork over the money” to an Aventura condominium association in a dispute over coverage.

The Third District Court of Appeal in Miami lambasted Miami-Dade Circuit Judge David C. Miller in granting a writ of prohibition to the Great American Insurance Company. The case now will be reassigned.
