It took a Miami jury only a few hours to produce a $26.7 million verdict against Boston Scientific Corp., a medical device manufacturer accused of failing to perform critical safety studies on its transvaginal mesh.

Four women who sued Boston Scientific alleged the company produced faulty mesh that caused bleeding, pain and infections in a case handled by Joseph Osborne, a partner at Babbitt Johnson Osborne & Le Clainche in West Palm Beach, and Jim Perdue, a partner at Perdue & Kidd in Houston.
