The massive Miami Worldcenter project suffered an unplanned setback as a city board delayed review of proposed zoning changes meant to accommodate the project for two months.

The city Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board deferred until Sept. 3 a discussion on changes that would modify many design standards for the 25-acre project north of downtown Miami and add the 4.7-acre home of the demolished Miami Arena to the Worldcenter special district. The mixed-use project will include 765,000 square feet of retail and commercial space as well as residences, hotel and convention space.
