National Football League Hall-of-Famer and Heisman Trophy winner Paul Hornung ran a 41 percent profit on an oceanfront Boca Raton condo he purchased last year.

The Louisville, Ky., native and his wife, Angela, flipped the oceanfront condominium at Addison on the Ocean for $1.975 million—a $575,000 gain in nine months.

They paid $1.4 million last April for the three-bedroom, 2½-bath condominium built in 1985 at 1400 S. Ocean Blvd., which means they bought at $424 per square foot and sold for $598 per square foot. The 3,300 square-foot unit was listed for $1.485 million when the Hornungs bought it.

The buyer is Karen Elgart of Rockaway Park, N.Y.

Hornung, a Super Bowl-winning running back with the Green Bay Packers and former all-American at Notre Dame, scored 760 points in nine seasons with 62 touchdowns. He played in an era when players were accustomed to playing multiple positions. As a kicker, he gets credit for 190 extra-point kicks and 66 field goals.

He was NFL player of the year in 1960 and 1961, and his Hall of Fame record credits him with gaining 3,711 yards rushing and 1,480 yards on pass receptions. He won four NFL titles and the first Super Bowl.
