Shutts & Bowen is moving across the street, signing a 15-year lease for three floors in Miami's Southeast Financial Center.

The Miami-based law firm will move its headquarters to 200 S. Biscayne Blvd. on Nov. 1, 2015. It will occupy 69,155 square feet on the 40th, 41st and 42nd floors.

Shutts & Bowen is now in Miami Center at 201 S. Biscayne Blvd., where it was one of the building's first tenants in 1984.

Financial terms of the lease were not revealed.

Joe Bolton, firmwide managing partner, said the firm looked at locations in downtown and the Brickell financial district before deciding on its new home.

"We wanted to stay in the downtown Miami corridor, which includes Brickell and the downtown area," Bolton said. "We liked the building, we like the location, and we love the beautiful unobstructed views on the upper floors. They've done a wonderful job of maintaining the building. This was an opportunity too good to be passed up."

Dozens of back-office operations staffers for Shutts will remain two blocks away at the SunTrust International Center.

Shutts & Bowen was represented in the lease by Cresa Partners and Southeast Financial Center by Jones Lang LaSalle.

Founded in 1910, Shutts & Bowen is Florida's oldest law firm. The firm has 94 lawyers in Miami and 250 total with offices in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa and Sarasota.
