Fort Lauderdale-based AutoNation Inc. said Wednesday that its new vehicle sales rose 13 percent to 25,454 in November, as demand for domestic, import and premium luxury vehicles all rose by double digits.

The nation's largest automotive retailer said revenue at dealerships open at least a year increased 8 percent from year-ago levels. The metric is a key measure of a retailer's health, because it excludes revenue from stores that recently opened or closed.

Total sales of domestic vehicles increased 15 percent to 7,409, while sales of import vehicles increased 11 percent to 12,136. Sales of premium luxury vehicles rose 13 percent to 5,909.

For the year-to-date, total sales rose 11 percent to 266,823.
