A bill to allow retailers to sell beer, malt liquor and other malt beverages in 64-ounce containers sometimes known as growlers was filed Tuesday by Representative Katie Edwards, D-Plantation.
Current law only allows 32-ounce or gallon size (128-ounce) containers. A number of brew pubs around the country sell growlers, or refillable to-go jugs, but they’re not allowed in Florida. Craft brewers have been pushing for a few years to allow the industry-standard 64-ounce bottles.
