In a unanimous opinion, the Florida Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Genghis Kocaker, a Clearwater man who killed a cab driver in 2004.
Kocaker stabbed and slit the throat of Eric Stanton, 26, before he set the cab on fire. Stanton died from smoke inhalation. A jury recommended death by a vote of 11-1.
