Broward Circuit Judge Susan Lebow, one of closest friends of former Broward Circuit Judge Ana Gardiner, was among several character witnesses called by defense attorney David Bogenschutz to shore up Gardiner's reputation at her ethics trial.

    Lets see: she was severely depressed but she was presiding over a trial in which the defendant could be sentenced to death ... I am afraid that is not very reassuring .

    The lawyers also seem to forget the testimony of Assistant State Attorney Sheila Alu who stated that she met Sheinberg and Gardiner at dinner and they were laughing about the trial and one of the jurors passing out due to the graphic nature of the photographs.
