A coalition of national and state advocacy groups and a former president of the Cuban American Bar Association filed suit Wednesday against the Florida Legislature and the secretary of state, claiming a newly redrawn Senate map is partisan and gerrymandered.

The suit filed in Leon Circuit Court seeks to have the map, which was redrawn by the Senate, discarded after the 2012 election. The Florida Supreme Court upheld a challenge to the original map for the upcoming election and accepted a redrawn version.
