Clarification:
According to the registrar’s office at the University of Miami, the law schools class sizes have declined in each of the past three years. Enrollment for 2011 was 480, in 2012 it was 443 and for 2013, the enrollment is 438. The school has not recorded a class enrollment of 200 in more than 20 years. Marcelyn R. Cox, assistant dean of the law schools career development office, says about 10 percent of of the schools students obtain summer jobs through an on-campus interview program while up to percent obtain them through and externship program. More than 100 students participating in the summer externship program work for corporate counsel offices, members of the judiciary, government agencies and public interest organizations this summer. The remainder obtain summer positions through one of the law schools clinical programs.
