The top lawyer at the University of Florida apparently has waved the white — and bright orange-and-blue Gator — flag in her battle with a prominent Gainesville attorney that has embroiled her office in controversy in recent months.
UF vice president, general counsel and university secretary Jamie Keith submitted a letter of resignation — dated May 25 and obtained by ALM Media on Wednesday — to university president W. Kent Fuchs, board of trustees chair James Heavener and vice chair Mori Hosseini. Under an agreement between Fuchs and Keith, she will receive six weeks’ severance and payment of her unused annual leave. She will remain on leave until June 28, the effective date of her resignation, according to UF communications director Margot Winick.
