Eduardo Leite, who has served as chairman of Baker & McKenzie’s executive committee for the past six years, will step down from that post at the end of October to focus on the firm’s growth in Latin America and New York.

Leite will become chairman emeritus as well as a senior partner, and will concentrate on driving the firm’s growth in New York and Latin America, according to a statement. More specifically, he will focus on developing strategies to enhance Baker & McKenzie’s capabilities for clients doing business in Latin America. He will be based in New York.
