With the presidential election around the corner and controversial topics of race relations, national security, immigration and women’s and LGBT rights at the forefront of this year’s election, conversations on these topics are making their way into the workplace.
While political discourse can be constructive in some instances, it can also be divisive and adversely affect productivity and work relationships. Many employees have strong views on political topics such as religion, gender equality and LGBT rights and are personally affected by these issues.
