The city of Miami Beach enacted a sustainability and resiliency ordinance effective April 1 establishing requirements for green building certification standards on construction within the city over a certain minimum size or the payment of a sustainability fee by the property owner or developer for failing to meet those minimum standards of sustainability.
The city established a sustainability and resiliency fund for deposits of sustainability fees generated by the ordinance.
