Uber Technologies Inc. is appealing a Florida Department of Revenue decision that the ride-sharing service’s drivers should be considered employees rather than independent contractors.
The San Francisco-based company’s app allows users to pay for rides from “independent, third-party transportation providers,” Uber employment counsel Dalene Bramer argues in the appeal.
