In a dispute over funding the property appraiser’s office, Broward County commissioners were rebuffed Wednesday by the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

Property Appraiser Lori Parrish went to court after she was shorted on the 2014 fiscal year budget. She sought a writ of mandamus from Broward Circuit Judge Dale Ross, insisting county commissioners had no discretion—only a ministerial duty—to fund her office at the full amount decided by the Florida Department of Revenue.
