I do hope true justice is served, instead of its who you know. I trust that Ms. Perez will proof herself. Apr 16, 2014 For the benefit of the NCAA or for the benefit of her clients post conviction motion that is currently pending in court. She had to uncover the documents in order to assist her client in his defense. Questionable... absolutely. However, how was she to gather the exculpatory documents in her clients case. Its a catch 22.... Apr 15, 2014 Isn‘t it problematic that she used subpoena power to compel testimony from witnesses who could not be otherwise compelled to testify for the benefit of the NCAA? Need 2 Know More Apr 15, 2014 Are you serious.... where does the "governmental interference" stop. She represented her client vigorously which led to this nightmare. What was she supposed to do... lie down to the all mighty Government and allow the corruption and deceit to continue. Although the end result may not be favorable, my hats off to her in representing her client. Shapiro, with everything he did wrong, was and is still entitled to adequate and vigorous representation. I cannot sit hear and read how once again they try to make an example of an attorney who had the guts to divulge the truth. Its a sad day, when the Fla. Bar will crumble at the pressure of the NCAA and the University. Incredible..... steveV Apr 15, 2014 WHY DOES YOUR ARTICLE NOT STATE ANY OF THE FACTS SUCH AS IF SHE COOPERATED WITH THE NCAA, HOW DID SHE COMPROMISE THE NCAA INVESTIGATION? ALSO HOW DID HER ATTENDANCE AT DEPOSITIONS INVOLVING HER CLIENT CAUSE THE STATE ETHICS VIOLATION?lets put some meat on the bone here. Jack Thompson, Coral Gables, Fl Apr 14, 2014 This is fascinating because it proves Donna Shalala is a leopard who has not changed her spots. Back in 1990, I blew the whistle on illegal activity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison when she was Chancellor of that university. What did Shalala do? She filed a Florida Bar complaint against me to punish me for my whistleblowing. Even the liberal Florida Bar dismissed it as baseless. So what has she done here to this attorney. She has orchestrated a Florida Bar complaint against this attorney who assisted the NCAA in nailing her university, correctly, for illegal activity. Keep your eye on this one. It will prove to be the undoing of The Florida Bar. Rick Apr 14, 2014 I‘m still waiting to hear what is the proof? Comments are not moderated. To report offensive comments, click here.
