Technician Injured By Falling Set Sues Ultra Music Festival
An equipment technician who said he was severely injured by a falling LCD screen prior to Miami's Ultra Music Festival has filed suit.
Joey Green filed the negligence lawsuit on Feb. 10 in Miami-Dade Circuit Court against Ultra Music Festival Corp. and numerous others. Green was one of two workers injured when a portion of a large LCD screen collapsed during the start of the festival last March.
Ultra, which features electronic music, is scheduled this year for March 28-30 at Bayfront Park in Miami.
Green sets up sound stages and other equipment at music festivals. He was employed by Event Services Inc., which is also named as a defendant.
Swedish House Mafia, the electronic dance music trio whose equipment was being installed when the accident occurred, also is a defendant.
The lawsuit was filed by partner Curtis J. Mase and associate William R. Seitz at Miami's Mase Lara Eversole. The firm said Green's legs were crushed by the falling LCD screen.
The case was assigned to Circuit Judge Norma S. Lindsey.
