The Ultra Music Festival and the electronic group Swedish House Mafia are being sued by an equipment installer who claims his legs were crushed by a falling LCD screen prior to last year's concert in downtown Miami.

What's being said

  • I agree

  • It wasnt an LCD screen, it was an LED Screen.
And the Screen and connection hardward was was provided by SwedishHouseMafia, not UMF.
When the connection hardward that held the screen to the overhead roof failed the screen fell and injured the stagehands. The screen hardward didnt fail...the hardward provided by the SHM to connect the screen to the roof failed. The bad connection hardward which was provided by SHM was fresh off a shipment from Belgium and came with no engineering documents. UMF knows about the lack of engineering document and chose not to pressure SHM so that the SHM would return 10 days later to play the second of their two date commitments. It should be noted that a week prior to the UMF installation the SHM Tour truck got into an accident and most of the rigging hardware, including the connection hardware were damaged. This is why SHM had to have new connection hardward elements built in haste, without engineering docs. After the accident all SHM stagehands and production people huddled up with UMF and hid many facts from the city and the victim.
I too hope all the facts come out for the sake of Mr. Green.
