When DLA Piper advised on the majority sale of a network of 130 Dominican gas stations to one of the world’s largest energy companies, the multimillion dollar deal required legal advice in multiple jurisdictions.

“The deal had touch points from Panama to London to Paris to Dominican Republic to New York,” said Francisco Cerezo, the Miami DLA Piper partner and U.S. head of Latin America corporate who led the legal team representing seller Putney Capital Management LLC. “The deal had to be done in such a way that it reconciled a lot of different laws. It was unique in that respect.”
