Nonprofits • Florida Children First, a group that fights for the legal rights of at-risk children, has elected the following to its board of directors: Melissa Lader Barnhardt, a SunTrust vice president and trust officer; attorney Nancy Gregoire, a shareholder at Bunnell Woulfe Kirschbaum Keller McIntyre Gregoire & Klein; and attorney Amy Hickman, a partner at Hausmann & Hickman in Boynton Beach.
Real Estate • Gordon Lunt has joined Berger Commercial Realty Corp., a commercial brokerage and management firm in Fort Lauderdale, as development manager and sales associate. He previously owned GLDC Inc., a private development and management consulting firm in Lantana.
• Marisela J. Cotilla has joined Prudential CRES Commercial Real Estate as director of retail in Boca Raton. She previously owned Pineapple Realty Advisors in Fort Lauderdale.
Technology • Bruce W. Hart, formerly the deputy director for science and technology for the CIA, has been named chief operating officer of Terremark Federal Group, a subsidiary of Terremark Worldwide Terremark operates technology facilities, including Miami’s NAP of the Americas, an Internet switching center.
Banking/Finance • Sheldon Steiner has been appointed senior vice president and business development officer for Valley Bank in Fort Lauderdale. He most recently was managing director of RSM McGladrey, an accounting firm in Fort Lauderdale.
• Jack Buell has been promoted to senior lender at Grand Bank & Trust from commercial loan officer. He also is a senior vice president. William Matthews joined Grand Bank as vice president and trust operations officer. He was assistant comptroller and vice president of operations at Bessemer Trust Co. of Florida in Palm Beach. Arturo Oliva joined Grand Bank as vice president and commercial lender. He was vice president and commercial loan officer for BB&T.
• BankAtlantic has named Susan Pennetti regional manager for central Broward. She was manager of the bank’s 17th Street Causeway branch.
• Amy Vetter has been named partner at Daszkal Bolton, a public accounting firm. She was a principal in the firm’s strategic business solutions group. Published week of Jan. 8 Real Estate • Jamie E. Irwin has been named project leasing manager for Arthur Weiner Enterprises and the Talisman Cos. Irwin, who will be based in Aventura, will oversee leasing on several projects, including properties in Las Vegas and Niagara Falls, N.Y. Irwin was most recently manager of real estate for Polo Ralph Lauren. Arthur Weiner Enterprises is a leasing and marketing firm. Talisman Cos. redevelops and markets retail properties, including Miracle Plaza in Miami.
Banking • Evan Jenne has been appointed vice president of retail banking at Valley Bank in Fort Lauderdale. He was a research associate at Nova Southeastern University.
Published week of Jan. 1 Hospitality • Honey Dietrich has been named director of fractional sales for the Trump Las Olas Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, she worked for the Berkley Group as project director.
Real Estate • Keith Graves has joined Berger Commercial Realty Corp., a commercial brokerage and management firm in Fort Lauderdale, as principal. Graves was vice president of CB Richard Ellis in the brokerage services group.
Honors • Catholic Charities Legal Services and the Archdiocese of Miami have honored Tibor Hollo, president of Florida East Coast Realty, with the New American Award. The award recognizes contributions to U.S. society made by immigrants. Hollo, a native of Hungary, has developed more than 55 million square feet of residential, industrial, governmental and commercial space in Miami.
Banking/Finance • Colonial Bank has added five executives in the Palm Beach County private banking division. Kathi Barnhart is vice president and Palm Beach County private banking team leader. She was a market manager for Comerica Wealth Management in Weston. Gloria Branch is a vice president and private banker who previously worked for Bank of Florida. Cindy Rey, assistant vice president and relationship officer, was a vice president and operations manager for the Bank of Florida. Tracey Major, a vice president and private banker, was a client adviser and private wealth manager with Suntrust Bank in Fort Lauderdale. Jennifer Shipman, a recent graduate of Florida Atlantic University, has been named relationship officer.
• Flo Ostrum has been promoted to partner of the Grant Thornton’s national professional standards group in Weston. She was director of governmental regulations, and part of the assurance unit for the firm's South Florida offices.
• Steven Owens has been named vice president and private banking relationship manager for BankUnited in Boca Raton. He was assistant vice president of investments with Bank of America in Boca Raton.
• Kathleen Bacco has been named mortgage services manager at BrightStar Credit Union. She was operations manager at MortgageIT in Sunrise.
Foundations • Glenn Kaufhold has been named executive director of the Miami Dade College Foundation. He will oversee fundraising and alumni relations. Most recently he was assistant vice president for corporate and foundation relations at Florida International University.
Architecture • Raul C. Perez has been named associate vice president at Garcia Stromberg, an architecture firm in Boca Raton. Previously, he operated Raul C. Perez and Associates in Lantana.
Media • Greg Diaz has been appointed director of sales at Spanish Broadcasting System. Diaz was vice president of sales for the Hispanic Digital Network, an online ad network for newspapers.
Public relations • Christin Clay has joined GT Mortgage as a public relations associate. Clay was a public relations intern with Mauney Business Communications in Houston. |
