Prominent Miami-Dade litigator Ramon E. Rasco is facing off against the ritzy Fisher Island Club over his inability to sell a six-figure membership in the private social group.

Rasco and his wife, Ana, claim Fisher Island Club Inc. fraudulently induced them into buying a $185,000 stake in 2006, weeks before the price of equity membership jumped to $250,000. But they say the club omitted key details that saddled them for years with an unwanted and pricey investment. They’ll likely have to hold on to that membership even longer: a court hearing that had been scheduled for Tuesday before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Samantha Ruiz-Cohen was canceled with no new date set.
