After a 54-year rift, the U.S. and Cuba have re-established diplomatic relations, reopening embassies in Havana and Washington, and celebrating President Barack Obama’s historic visit to Cuba in March.

American cruise lines, hoteliers and manufacturers have already begun doing business in Cuba or are preparing for it. Congressional delegations, business executives, bar associations, government delegations and academic groups have visited Cuba. A cruise ship from an American line docked in Havana harbor earlier this month for the first time in almost 40 years. Cuba expects American tourism to increase in the coming years. Moreover, the Obama administration has chipped away at the U.S. embargo on Cuba through executive actions to facilitate an increase of commerce between the U.S. and the island nation.
