
Since 1926, thousands of South Florida's most influential and successful people have made the Daily Business Review part of their morning routine. Although nearly four generations have relied on the paper for news, few know the Daily Business Review's history and corporate background.
1926
First published as the Daily Record serving Dade County's legal community.
1927
Consolidated with a second paper, publication renamed the Miami Review and Daily Record.
1962
The Broward Review was started with offices in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
1979
The Law Review founded as a twice weekly in West Palm Beach.
1986
American Lawyer Magazine founder Steven Brill bought the Miami, Broward and Palm Beach Reviews, along with six other newspapers. The Palm Beach Review acquired the Commercial Record and began publishing five days a week.
1991
The Review newspapers changed their name to the Daily Business Review to reflect broadening of coverage to include business, real estate and law.
1993
Time Warner Inc. becomes majority owner of American Lawyer Media.
1996
The Daily Business Reviews were redesigned to appeal to a broader, more sophisticated audience of business people and professionals.
1997
A partnership affiliated with the New York investment house Wasserstein Perella Group Inc. bought American Lawyer Media from Time Warner and then acquired National Law Publishing Co., owner of the National Law Journal.
2001
Daily Business Review launched its redesigned and repackaged daily legal and business paper to appeal to the needs of its legal and business readers.
2004
Daily Business Review introduced the Financial Review section each Wednesday and the Real Estate Review section each Friday.
Today
The Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Daily Business Reviews are published Monday through Friday. Each newspaper includes a front section for news and classified advertising and a second section for business leads, court information and public notices.
