Ron Book and the rest of the Miami Dolphins lobbying contingent began crafting their pitch to state lawmakers well before the team unveiled its ambitious and expensive Sun Life Stadium renovation program.
"We knew something was coming but didn’t know what," Book said. The veteran lobbyist spoke while his three-lobbyist firm based in Aventura prepared to represent more than 100 clients in the legislative session kicking off Tuesday. "We had been talking to them about the importance of local economic sustainability as to the future of sports facilities in our communities without the specifics."
