Baker & McKenzie Half-Day Seminar – INVESTING AND DOING BUSINESS IN THE AMERICAS

The diverse economies of Latin America continue to grow against the backdrop of a volatile global economic climate.  As a result, vigorous trade between the US and Latin America continues, with many companies benefiting from new opportunities in industries and sectors across both markets.

In this expanding business environment, Baker & McKenzie invites corporate counsel and senior-level executives to a complimentary half-day seminar addressing the key legal, regulatory and market dynamics affecting companies doing business in the Americas.
The seminar will be led by Baker & McKenzie lawyers from the Andean Pact Countries (Colombia, Chile and Peru), the Mercosur Countries (Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela), Mexico, Canada and the US, and will offer breakout sessions focusing on both the outbound and inbound issues most affecting our clients.  Among the areas that will be addressed:

  • Creating a Strategy to Conduct Business in Latin America
  • Operational Challenges to Consider When Growing Your Business in Latin America
  • Key Issues to Evaluate When Investing in the US or Canada
  • Regulatory and Compliance Considerations for Doing Business in the US or Canada

Donna Shalala, President of the University of Miami and former Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services under President Clinton, will be the keynote luncheon speaker.
