Lennar third-quarter profit jumps as new orders, number of homes delivered rises

Miami-based Lennar got a boost in the third quarter in part because of a tax benefit, the number of homes delivered and a spike in new orders and reported a significant increase in backlog, a sign of potential future housing revenue.
