Watsco, the Miami-based air conditioning and heating equipment company, said today its quarterly earnings jumped 8.3 percent on the strength of strong sales for the period.

Watsco (NYSE: WSO) said its second-quarter earnings were $39.1 million, or $1.15 a share, an improvement from the $36 million, or $1.09 a share profit recorded in the same period of 2011. The company’s revenue rose 15 percent to $1.01 billion.
