Ruden McClosky no longer exists, but the defunct law firm’s name lives on — in 11 lawsuits targeting the firm’s $20 million malpractice insurance policies.

Most of the parties were granted motions for relief from the firm’s automatic bankruptcy stay to pursue their litigation against Ruden in other courts — all aimed at recovering money from Ruden’s two malpractice carriers, Fireman’s Fund and Berkely Select. The policies carry a maximum of $10 million insurance each.
