Ruden McClosky no longer exists, but the defunct law firm’s name lives on in 11 lawsuits targeting the firm’s $20 million malpractice insurance policies.
Most of the parties were granted motions for relief from the firm’s automatic bankruptcy stay to pursue their litigation against Ruden in other courts all aimed at recovering money from Ruden’s two malpractice carriers, Fireman’s Fund and Berkely Select. The policies carry a maximum of $10 million insurance each.
