U.S. DISTRICT COURT, FORT LAUDERDALE

In 2009, James Yoder, then 68, was crossing at a Fort Lauderdale intersection when he was struck by Sherryl Kamper. He claimed Kamper failed to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. He fractured his fibula and skull, and received nondisplaced cervical fractures, requiring several months of physical therapy. Kamper claimed Yoder was jaywalking and stepped in front of her moving vehicle.
