Her nomination to become South Florida’s next federal judge was placed on the U.S. Senate consent calendar Tuesday. U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson’s office said Williams’ confirmation was imminent as long as there were no objections.



Traditionally, nominations on the consent calendar get confirmed quickly, but the Senate has not green-lighted President Obama’s judicial nominees expediently since he took office. More than 30 nominations are pending, and senators don’t take them in order.
