Two years after the collapse of the financial markets and the exposure of massive Ponzi schemes like Bernie Madoff’s, wealth managers remain largely in crisis mode as they assess the course of the economy and the safest harbors for their client’s money.

As they took stock of the trends in 2010 and looked ahead at the investment landscape in 2011, participants in the Daily Business Review’s Wealth Management Roundtable contemplated the forces that will shape the decisions they make for high-end clients over the next 12 months.

That will include Congressional legislation issued by the Obama administration. Shall the Bush tax cuts be renewed or not? What’s going on with state taxes, and what are the best places to be in 2011 given the moribund economic scene? Going forward, what are the best areas for growth as well as capital preservation?
